Poetry News from PW

Collins Archive Goes to Texas : Billy Collins, a former United States poet laureate and the rare poet to send books onto the bestseller list, can now claim another feather in his cap: a sale of his archive to the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin, where his papers will sit beside collections of such greats as e.e. cummings and T. S. Eliot.


Juan Gelman Dies at 83: Argentine poet Juan Gelman, an exile whose writings were colored by personal tragedy he suffered at the hands of his country's brutal military dictatorship, died in Mexico City on Tuesday. He had been battling leukemia.
