PA launches site 'to attract brightest and best' into industry

The Publishers Association has launched a new area of its website as a resource for those looking to work in publishing, or already in the industry.

Chief executive Richard Mollet said: "To continue its success, British publishing requires people with a range of different skills and it needs to offer a range of rewarding career paths. This site highlights some of these and will hopefully help the sector to attract the brightest and best people into the industry."

The site will provide information on publishing courses, an RSS feed to The Bookseller's job advertisements, links to recruitment agencies and information on networking events and seminars.
The site also features interviews with industry professionals, highlights the "different, sometimes unconventional career paths and broad range of skills relevant to the publishing industry, including that of one publisher who came to the industry having originally studied palaeontology," the PA said.
The announcement was made at the PA's "What People do Publishers Need?" seminar, held this morning (16th April) at the London Book Fair.
