More Rebus confirmed from Rankin

Author Ian Rankin has confirmed that his new novel will again feature series character John Rebus, and will be entitled Saints of the Shadow Bible.
Rankin made the announcement over Twitter from Waterstones bookshop in Inverness where he was holding an event this morning (15th April).
Rankin brought back Rebus after an absence of five years in last year's Standing in Another Man's Grave, though there was speculation as to whether his return would be a one-off.

Rankin said: "Last year's book saw the return of John Rebus, and I was overwhelmed by the reaction of fans. So here he is again, back on the force but paired with one-time nemesis Malcolm Fox in an inquiry which may end up uncovering too much of Rebus's own past, pitting him against old allies."
The title will see a 30-year-old case being reopened, with Rebus' team from back then suspected of foul play. His colleagues at that time called themselves "The Saints", and swore a bond on something called "The Shadow Bible", but the crimes of the past can't stay hidden much longer.

Like Standing in Another Man's Grave, the title Saints of the Shadow Bible is based on a lyric from a song by Scottish singer and songwriter Jackie Leven. Leven and Rankin became friends and worked together on a number of projects in the year's leading up to Leven's death in 2011.
The book will be published by Orion in hardback on 7th November, priced £18.99.
