This
May, Interlitq to make a new
application for funding to Arts Council England (ACE). This May also to witness
the publication in Interlitq of new
writing from New Zealand
Robert Toperter, London, April 28, 2012
Peter Robertson, the journalist and author
who is the President of Interlitq,
has today announced that the international literary review, which has regrouped
after some challenging months, and is currently publishing at www.interlitq.wordpress.com, will
this May make a new application for funding to Arts Council England (ACE). Furthermore,
this May will witness the publication of new voices from New Zealand in Interlitq.
Robertson clarifies, “It is the case that
we were not successful last time, and that this negative decision was upheld at
the reassessment stage, but Interlitq
has now regrouped and we are approaching ACE this May with a stronger case”. He goes
on, “Although Interlitq has not published at www.interlitq.org
since August 2011, readership of that site has nonetheless soared by more
than six million places over the last
two months, and this April the site www.interlitq.wordpress.com
has evidenced its sixth consecutive month of growth, in terms of readership”.
Winding
up, Robertson states. “It is certainly encouraging that around now we are
seeing an upsurge in readership within the UK. And let me say that I continue
to be hopeful of forging a viable partnership with ACE, to promote fine
international literature within a multicultural forum. And, last but not least,
following on from the publication of our February 2011 “New Zealand Literary
showcase”: http://interlitq.org/issue14/index_issue14.php,
this May Interlitq will focus once
again on the publication of new voices from New Zealand”.
