Time to celebrate

A North East England company has set out to celebrate the achievements of the world’s aspiring writers.
Certys Limited, of Darlington, County Durham, which runs the monthly Global Short Story Competition and is currently running a free flash (short) fiction competition as well, says it wants to celebrate success.

The company has set up a section on the forums section of its free social networking site for authors, at globalwriters.net, on which members can post details of their successes in competitions or in being published.
Certys director, the crime writer John Dean, said: “We try to encourage writers as much as we can and in these uncertain times it seemed like a good idea to celebrate good news.

“We know that many of our writers enjoy success around the world in various competitions, or have had books published, and we want to give them the chance to shout about it
.”
