AFTER 5 - A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BOOK PUBLICIST

The first for 2009 of the popular quarterly After 5 sessions organised by BPANZ was held last evening in Ponsonby's Grand Central bar when some 80 folk from Auckland's book publishing industry were entertained by four veterans of the business - freelance publicist Lorraine Steel, AUP's Christine O'Brien and Sandra Noakes from Harper Collins, led by Booksellers News editor Jillian Ewart.

Wit and wisdom abounded and the audience, which I noted contained a number of other book publicists, afterwards went off into the warm Auckland evening feeling they had been well entertained.

BPANZ President Tony Fisk hosted the event and in his introduction gave a run down on happenings at BPANZ and within the industry.
