BOOK READERS SHOULD NOT MISS THIS WEEK'S NZ LISTENER
September 20-26.

Included is an excellent three page piece on newly honoured W.H.Oliver and his passion for narrative history by former long-time Listener staffer Denis Welch; a review of Paul Auster's latesr novel, Man in the Dark ; a longish extract from Hamish Keith's recently published and most enetertaining autobiography, Native Wit ; and a review of Paul Theroux's latest, Ghost Train To The Easter Star.

Lots of other stuff interested me too including A Touch of Glyndebourne which tells the story of NBR NZ Opera pulling out all the stops for JENUFA which has seasons in Auckland and Wellington about to get underway; Michael Cooper on boutique wineries; Martin Bosley on the joys of using saffron in our cooking; and Deborah Hill Cone on Sarah Palin.
