THE NEW YORKER

September 3 & 10, 2007

Great joy, The New Yorker arrived in the post today.

It is a double issue and is almost entirely about food including my favourite, a series of seven essays each under the general heading of Family Dinner, written by people of varying ethnic backgrounds. Wonderful.

But there are also stories about Claudia Roden, David Graves (the man responsible for the rooftop beehives to be found all over New York city), open air eating in Singapore, and most of the cartoons, for which the magazine is so renowned, are on food subjects too.

To top it all of though if you go to the online edition you can view a slide show of 21 covers from The New Yorker that all have a food theme ranging from the 1920's to the present issue .

The New Yorker, a great magazine.
