A MESSAGE FROM THE PUBLISHERS OF NEW NOVEL REVIEW

Dear Friends,

Some of you may have already heard that New Novel Review has been having some troubles keeping its head above water with both of us having less and less time to work on the not-for-profit publication. One of our aims has been to research and profile the very best new fiction, but with our time so hideously stretched we haven’t been satisfied that we can keep on finding the good stuff. So, with much sadness, and to save NNR from deteriorating, we’ve decided we have no choice but to put it on hold. We do plan to re-launch the publication when time and finances allow and will keep you all updated.

Thank you so much to those who offered such incredible support to our wee project and we hope the experience we’ve gained through our adventure can continue to serve the NZ book community in the future. We especially wanted to thank: the contributing reviewers - for their time, talent and professionalism; the Publishers and publicists – for their continued support, encouragement, knowledge and suggestions, and of course the books; our advertisers – for their support and encouragement; independent bookshops – for pushing the booklet into shoppers’ hands, and for existing for the love of it and our subscribers – for their dedicated interest.

We also wanted to particularly thank: Allen and Unwin, Lesley Auchterlonie, Judy Barnes, Chris Baty, Graham Beattie, Carole Beu, Toby Buck, Gina Butson, Maud Cahill, Michael Couper, Kiran Dass, Tanya Gribben, Hachette Livre, Harper Collins, Pete Hibberdine, Quentin Johnson, Francis Kelly, Melanie Laville-Moore, Sandra Lees, Paula Legel, Mary McCallum, Jo McColl, Heather McKenzie, Macmillan, Lyn Olds, Penguin, Nigel Prickett, Random House, Abby Renshaw, Marilyn Sainty, Steve Scott, Sarah Thornton, Wendy Tighe-Umbers, Tosh Tohill, Catherina Van Bohemen, VUP, and Angie Willocks.

Annaliese will be continuing her work for The Auckland Writers & Readers Festival and Miriama for The Women’s Bookshop. Book people - please keep us on your mailing lists! We will continue to be contactable via the New Novel Review PO Box and email addresses.

Thank you again.

Warm regards,
Annaliese and Miriama
