Digital Café Events Highlights
Well with three-packed days of events it's often so hard to choose but here are a few more highlights. There will be an epic Idea festival by students from three colleges on the future of publishing and illustration. A new developer for the fair from Germany called Creata will showcase their VR apps for toys. The Digital Media Hall will also host the launch of the new Kid’s VR viewer from Snaptolearn and hear from the award-winning Kid’s App Collective on How to Make Great Apps. Finally, with this year’s edition being all about creative technology - come and see Lenovo open up a new discussion for artists and publishers around an ideas device called the Yoga Book!Find these and more on the first online preview of the 2017 Digital Café programme.
The Picture Book and AR technology

Last but not least, a note on a technology that is appearing throughout the 2017 show. Augmented and Virtual Reality have really come into the forefront this year and have started to build a bridge to new developments within the print book and digital app businesses. So much so you will see that amongst this year’s BolognaRagazzi Digital Award winners are two AR books, we even had to add a new category for the award itself. Mark your diary for an essential publisher led session in the digital café on picture books and AR with Aksel Koie, Step IN Books Saara Tiuraniemi Bonnier Finland and Etienne Jaxel-Tuer EJT labo Wednesday 12-12.45pm Digital Café Hall 32.
