Creative Technology and the Illustrator
In a new theme for 2017 there will be a number of events combining illustration and creative technology on the cafe programmes. Starting in the illustrators café, 12pm Monday 3rd, Luca Prasso, creative technologist from Google’s Daydream Lab in conversation with Guido Terni from Lenovo about hardware and software projects. Then in the Digital Café (Hall 32) on Tuesday 4th -10 am, Fabian Negrin and Timo Dries talk about artist and developer collaborations in the digital world. Finally, on Wednesday at 1.30pm a fascinating round table with Moleskine and Open Milano about the traditions and innovations in note books, smart pens and book shop spaces today.

Illustrators Café and other Highlights
The Illustrators Café program is packed full this year. Among the artists with us: Oliver Jeffers, Sam Winston, Lorenzo Mattotti, Isabelle Arsenault, Juan Palomino, Rotraut Susanne Berner and Gilles Bachelet. Do not miss: Catalan illustration with its best artists, the meeting of the international jury of the Illustrators Exhibition 2017, Russian illustration from the 20s to the present, the visual creators of BCBF 2017, the artists on stage in Pitti Immagine Bimbo. Other must-see happenings: the new era of Children illustration, best illustrators guides, how to write and illustrate for children...
 
The International Award for Illustration - BCBF & FUNDACIÓN SM
The winner of the eighth edition of the Prize () will be announced on Wednesday 5 April. The jury of Rotraut Susanne Berner, winner H.C. Andersen Award, Lorenzo Mattotti and María de Jesús Gil Iglesias, editorial consultant and former Coordinator of Fundació SM activities - will have to choose among the unpublished artists under 35 from the Illustrators Exhibition. The winner will be seen again next year, with a solo exhibition of the art that will have been created for the book to be published by Ediciones SM.
 
Exhibition Highlights in the Fair and the City
75 artists from 22 countries are part of the Illustrator’s Exhibition 2017. For the first time in addition to the Annual, a beautiful collection of postcards will be available. Two solo exhibitions: one of Rotraut Susanne Berner, cover artist of the illustrators Annual 2017, and that of Juan Palomino, winner of the Premio Fundación BCBF-SM 2017. In the fair, 80 gems in the exhibition Pop-up The magic inside books in hall 26. Lovely shows in the city include Emanuele Luzzati, Klaas Verplancke, Isabelle Arsenault, Gilles Bachelet, Beatrice Alemagna and many others.
