At the end of an incredible journey,
this time from New York through to South Carolina and the US Southern states,
bestselling author Sarah-Kate Lynch felt philosophically driven to write down
the six things that mattered most to her in life: love, friendship, manners,
New York City, the South and honey. For
Sarah-Kate, the journey represented a particularly happy period in her life and
for her many fans, the beginnings of a sparkling new novel, The Wedding Bees.
Sugar Wallace arrives in Manhattan with
nothing but a hive full of bees, a mysterious past and an insistence on good
manners and honey. Sugar and her bees
have led a somewhat nomadic life since leaving their home in South
Carolina. As it is with everywhere she
has made tentative roots, Sugar plies her often needy neighbours with curative
honey produce and some old-fashioned Southern manners, bringing about happy changes
to their lives. This time – and with the
help of a certain busy Queen – it seems as if there might be some changes for
secretly lovelorn Sugar as well.
Clever and
humorous, The Wedding Bees is a
gentle tale of love, honey, manners and new beginnings. Another charming and witty story in the style the author has made her own.
About the author:
Sarah-Kate
Lynch is a journalist and columnist with a penchant for travel (understatement), especially to
New York City. She usually lives in a
cliff-top house with her dog and husband, on the wild-west coast of New Zealand,
but likes to escape whenever possible for ‘research’ purposes to far-flung
spots in pretty parts of the world where she enjoys the local cuisine and the
odd glass of wine.
She
is a self-confessed, life-long honey nut, an addiction which may have arisen
from her childhood love of Winnie the Pooh. Sarah-Kate is also the author of seven
previous bestselling novels, including most recently Dolci
di Love.
