Stephen Minchin of Steam Press will speak about establishing his Wellington
based publishing company at the New Zealand Society of Authors Wellington
Branch meeting on Monday, 22 April.
Minchin says he believes that New
Zealand ’s authors of speculative fiction
should not have to send their work offshore to have any hope of seeing it in
print. He wants to read locally written titles that make him sit up all night
with a stupid grin on his face and then forget to get off the train the next
morning.
Fellow guest speakers are Lisa Buchanan (CEO) and Katie Sherriff
(Sales and Marketing) of Vangelizer, an independent New
Zealand owned company which provides
publishers and self-published authors with the tools to promote their books
online and track results from social media. They will offer tips to authors on
using social marketing to publicize their books.
Cost: NZSA members, $3. Non-members, $5. Venue: Thistle Inn, Mulgrave
Street , Thorndon, Monday, 22 April, from 7.30pm.
