LLOYD GEERING SETS NEW FESTIVAL RECORD

Lloyd Geering’s upcoming Auckland Writers & Readers Festival lecture on how humans made God is setting new box office records for a New Zealand session, with more than 400 people booked to hear the New Zealand icon just three weeks after bookings opened.

95 year old Lloyd Geering will deliver the Michael King lecture, an annual fixture on the Festival programme, on Sunday 19 May at 10am at the Aotea Centre in Auckland.  With his new book From The Big Bang To God due out shortly, Geering continues to inspire and provoke audiences with his lifelong examination of the place of God and religion in the world and his Festival session promises more of the same.

Geering’s lecture is just one of 84 sessions, some ticketed and some free, on offer to the public over five days of good times and great ideas at the Auckland Writers & Readers Festival 15-19 May, featuring 150 participants of whom more than 120 are New Zealand based.
