WHS are buying 22 stores and intellectual property from British Bookshops for £1.05 million. No stock has been purchased in the deal.
New stores will be integrated into the WH Smith high street chain of 573 shops, and are expected to add around £1m to annual profits
The newsagents and stationery group has acquired nearly half of the 51 high street shops operated by British Bookshops, now in administration, and the 200 people employed at the 22 shops will transfer to WH Smith.
