The Bookseller

Value Added Tax (VAT) will not be applied to books, or other printed materials, the chanceller of the Exchequer George Osborne has announced. But the top rate of VAT will increase from 4th January 2011 to 20% from the current rate of 17.5%, meaning the price of digital books and audio books could increase.
