IN A NEW LIGHT - POETRY & MUSIC

Our In a New Light: Made in NZ concert at 7.30pm this Friday at the Wellington Town Hall features a free pre-concert talk of interest to anyone who loves poetry.

The concert programme itself includes contemporary classical music by John Psathas, Claire Cowan, the late Arnold Trowell (once a correspondent of Katherine Mansfield’s) and Ross Harris, whose song cycle The Floating Bride, The Crimson Village features the poetry of Vincent O’Sullivan, sung by soprano Jenny Wollerman.

Vincent will appear as a guest panellist before the concert, along with Martin Griffiths, who is doing his PhD on Arnold Trowell at Waikato University. Other panellists are composers Claire Cowan and Ross Harris, and NZSO chief executive Peter Walls.

Meanwhile tickets to In a New Light: Made in NZ are $25 and available from Ticketek.
