Are comedians, fashion commentators and maths boffins really the best qualified to tell us what to read? Or am I demonstrating the snobbery that things like the TV Book Club have set out to eliminate? Perhaps I have missed the point. Perhaps Wan, Brand et al. don't actually choose the books, rather comment on titles that have been pre-chosen by the all-powerful triumvirate of Ross, the publishers and the retailers.

maybe he doesnt have the best taste but i think it's good that reading is being introduced and discussed on television. it might just encourage people to go out and find books THEY like to read, or to start their own book clubs. i think it's a good step in the right direction.
