HarperCollins imprint Fourth Estate is planning to print an extra 100,000 copies of Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall, on the back of last night's Man Booker Win. The book has already sold 22,000 copies according to Nielsen BookScan.
Victoria Barnsley, c.e.o of HarperCollins, said: "We were all so delighted when Hilary's name was read out at the Guildhall ceremony last night to win the Man Booker prize - becoming the first odds-on favourite ever to overcome that curse by winning.
This is a fantastic win for Hilary Mantel, managing director John Bond, editor Nick Pearson and the whole Fourth Estate team."
She added: "Over 25 years, Fourth Estate has been shortlisted so many times but never managed to scoop the prize - always the bridesmaid but never the bride. We are so proud to publish Hilary Mantel who has always been the most beautiful and compelling writer. As she said herself if this is what being hit by a train is like, we are all enjoying it. And the best news is, she is currently hard at work on Volume Two."
