DK launches e-guides for Kindle and iPhone

DK Eyewitness Travel has broadened its digital reach with its Top 10 series now available on both Kindles and iPhones.

The Top 10 city travel guides are now available as e-books on the Amazon Kindle. Initially there are 30 titles that will go on sale, with further titles to follow in the coming weeks. The e-book guides are the same price as the printed titles and cost either £6.99 or £7.99.

There are also over 20 guides now available on the iPhone and iPod touch. The four most popular destinations are London, New York, Paris and Rome with London leading the way. A further 10 destinations are due to be releases soon and are priced at £4.99.

DK Travel publisher Douglas Amrine said: "Our guides are unique in the way the rich content is structured for print, online and mobile. The Top 10 series lends itself perfectly to different platforms, particularly as ebooks and mobile applications."

DK will also shortly be launching foreign language translations for iPhone applications. The first 10 translations will launch in November for Norwegian publisher Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. DK is also discussing other translations with a variety of publishing partners.
