Serpent's Tail signs more from PerrySerpent’s Tail has acquired a second book from Sarah Perry, whose debut was longlisted for the Guardian First Book of the Year Award 2014.
Hannah Westland, publisher at Serpent’s Tail bought UK and commonwealth rights in Perry’s second novel, The Essex Serpent, from Jenny Hewson at Rogers, Coleridge & White.
Perry’s debut, After Me Comes the Flood, was published in June and it won the East Anglian Book of the Year Award 2014, as well being longlisted for the Guardian First Book of the Year.
Sphere buys Little Coffee Shop sequelSphere has acquired two more novels from Deborah Rodriguez, including a sequel to her debut, The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul.
Catherine Burke, publisher at Sphere fiction, bought UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Australia New Zealand and Canada, to the novels from Lizzy Kremer of David Higham Associates, working on behalf of Marly Rusoff. Rights for Australia New Zealand were acquired by Beverley Cousins, fiction publisher at Penguin Random House Australia.

Fogg appointed publishing director at HCCornerstone's Jack Fogg is joining HarperCollins in the newly-created role of publishing director for fiction and non-fiction.
Fogg is currently editorial director at Cornerstone imprint Century, where he has worked with authors including Rod Stewart, James Corden, Tim Vine and Hugh Howey.
He will begin at HarperCollins in March, reporting in to executive publisher Kate Elton.
Parragon signs Matt Hatter licensing dealParragon is publishing a series of books based on the "Matt Hatter Chronicles" brand, after signing a licensing deal with Platinum Films.
Under the terms of the deal, Parragon will publish colouring, sticker, activity and story books in the UK, Australia and South Africa in 2015.
Malala audiobook nominated for GrammyThe audio recording of Malala’s autobiography for young people, Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up For Education, has been nominated for a US Grammy Award.
