Debates and Dance, Prose and Percussion!
New event just announced: The Big Debate. Join us for a lively event debating the proposed motion: "The Cultural Cringe is Over". Hosted by The Times and Sunday Times and with Robert Collins (Deputy Literary Editor, The Sunday Times) in the chair, get involved as our speakers make their argument through banter, brashness and ruthless conviction.
Speakers confirmed include Greta Scacchi, Anita Heiss, and Steve Braunias. Whose side will you be on?
The Festival kicks off this weekend with Going Bush, a presentation of new short plays by Australian and New Zealand playwrights at the Bush Theatre. Free pairs of tickets are available to the first ten Festival Members to get in touch with us here. If you're not already a member this could be a great time to join! Special announcement about our crowdfunding campaign: We are 75% towards our target and to help give us a boost, every donation made before midnight tonight (May 19th, BST- Dame Nellie Melba’s birthday) will be matched by our angel donor in the wings....so you double your donation!
Tim Winton’s latest book Eyrie is attracting rave reviews - just a few tickets left for his opening event and tickets are selling fast for Fay Weldon's event, where she'll be discussing her 'kiwi connections'.
We've ordered the summer weather so bring your sunscreen and hang out on the River Terrace with a latte or glass of wine and enjoy stunning views of the Thames.
Less than two weeks to go!
