The Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture: celebrating excellence in children’s literature

April Newsletter

Two pieces of news from the Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture

Firstly, if you visit peacelecture.com, you will be able to find a streaming video of the 2012 lecture given by Malorie Blackman, which was entitled, 21st Century Storytelling: Will the advent of new technology create a paradigm shift in the writing and reading of children's literature? If you were not able to attend, then the video is a great way to catch up on the event.

Secondly, the 2013 lecture will be given by Kevin Crossley-Holland and is entitled, Footprints on the Grass: Speaking of Gardens and Children’s Books. It will take place at 5.00pm on the 5th of September at Homerton College, Cambridge. Booking for this lecture has not yet opened and will not open until sometime in the summer. We will send you an email a few days before booking opens.

You have been sent this email because you signed up to the Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture or because you booked for one of the lectures in the past. You can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of this email.

PHILIPPA PEARCE died in 2006, but respect and affection for her writing is as strong as ever. In her memory, a series of lectures is now underway, each intended to celebrate excellence in writing for children and to emphasize its continuing vital importance.
