Random House released E.L. James‘ Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy as a box set on June 12th. Publishers Weekly reported that “the set sold nearly 84,000 print copies in its first full week.”
The individual books currently occupy the top three spots on The New York Times bestseller list for combined print & eBook fiction. So far, they have retained a position on the list for fifteen weeks. The box set by itself holds the #6 spot.
Salon.com noted that novelist Bret Easton Ellis tweeted his plans to adapt the book into a film script.
According to The Huffington Post, several Hollywood actresses have expressed interest in playing the lead heroine including Nancy Drew star Emma Roberts and The Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart. Who would you cast as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey?

That is apalling Bruce. Surely they are in breach of the Commerce Act? If I were you I'd buy the US edition from a US wholesaler. This is one of the best-selling titles ever and why should you be prevented from supplying your customers.
By the way if you haven;'t read them you are not missing much, boring and repetitive! Nevertheless you should be able to supply your customers if they want to purchase.
Price ex Baker and Taylor is US$47.85 - we would need to sell for around $NZ 100. Random quoted NZ RRP is $55. Currently unavailable from Book Depository.

Bugger! Booksellers NZ should take up this matter with Random House. Where a book is "published" by Whitcoulls then they can have excusitivity obviously but with a title like this I am sure Random House must supply. Don't give up on it Bruce, contact Booksellers NZ and start a fight to get access.
Thanks for your support! We'll see what we can do!
