Two new books explore Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s career as an editor.
Reading Jackie: Her Autobiography in Books,” by William Kuhn, a biographer and historian, will be released on Dec. 7 under Ms. Talese’s imprint at Doubleday, a departure from the company’s longstanding rule of not publishing anything about Mrs. Onassis, its former employee. The other — “Jackie as Editor: The Literary Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis” — is by Greg Lawrence (who with his former wife, the ballerina Gelsey Kirkland, authored the tell-all memoir “Dancing on My Grave” for Mrs. Onassis in 1986), and will be published by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press.
