Still Fabulous at Fifty
50 glorious years of the Romantic Novelists' Association
Monday 15th November 2010
On Wednesday at the Romantic Novelists' Association's (RNA) winter party there will be a celebration of one of the things the organisation does best (apart from throw sensational bashes); the nurturing of fresh talent.
The RNA is the only UK body of professional authors which encourages the unpublished which it does through its New Writers Scheme. Amongst those discovered by the RNA and who are now international best-sellers and who will be present at the party are Marika Cobbold and Katie Fforde.
Also present will be Joanne Harris, Judy Astley, Trisha Ashley and Dr David Hessayon, the gardening expert, who sponsors the NWS and whose late wife, Joan Hessayon was a romantic novelist and a stalwart of the RNA.
The party is being held in the Library of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London SW1H 9JJ at 6.30. Over 200 guests will be present including many best-selling authors and industry professionals – around 50 from 23 different publishing houses, agencies and allied concerns.
