TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL
Wonderful to see the cover story of this week's NZ Listener features a book. Well actually it features a movie, but of course the movie is based on Elizabeth Knox's widely-praised and best-selling novel, The Vintner's Luck.
Four pages by Diana Wichtel on the movie that was released this past weekend at the Tornoto Film Festival to sell-out audiences, along with a futher two pages on "homegown literary eccentric" Elizabeth Knox, and finally a one page interview with two of the film's stars.
This is very generous treatent by the Listener and I applaud them for it.
But wait there is more, five book reviews, the Cultural Curmudgeon having his say, an interesting piece on the "other Blanchett girl" and her design of the set for NZ Opera's production of Eugene Onegin which opens in Auckland on Thursday of this week, Kim Hill on her visit to Africa, and loads of other stuff too. Don't miss it.
