The winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2009
will be announced at a dinner presentation Thursday 18 June 2009
at the Mitchell Galleries, State Library of New South Wales commencing at 6.30pm.

Emeritus Professor Jill Roe AO will open the evening's proceedings and announce this year's winner at around 7.30pm.

Books shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2009 are:

The Pages - Murray Bail - Text Publishing
The Slap - Christos Tsiolkas - Allen & Unwin
