Slumgirl Rubina Ali's story from Transworld
08.06.09 Benedicte Page reporting in The Bookseller

Transworld has bought world English rights in the life story of Rubina Ali,
(pic left, ScrapeTV), nine-year-old star of "Slumdog Millionaire".
Slumgirl Dreaming: My Journey to the Stars will be published simultaneously in adult and children's editions from Transworld's Black Swan imprint and Random House Children's Books' Bantam imprint, (both £6,99, 16th July).
Transworld bought the rights from French publisher Oh! Editions.

Ali played the role of the young Latika in the multi-Oscar winning film of Vikas Swarup’s bestselling novel Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle.
The publisher said: "Now she tells her own incredible story, from playing marbles with her friends beside the sewers of Garib Nagar in Mumbai, to dancing along to the Bollywood films she and her family watch on their old television set."
Publication by Random House India and RH Inc will follow in September. All royalties for Slumgirl Dreaming will be shared by Rubina and the healthcare charity Médecins du Monde.
