Princeton Say Kindle Pilot Focuses on Reducing Printing, Rther than Replacing Textbooks

About the pilot from the Princeton Website:

Princeton is using the Amazon DX electronic reader to pilot the use of an e-reader in a small number of classes during the Fall term of 2009.
The project is sponsored by the Princeton University Library, the Office of Information Technology at Princeton, and the High Meadows Foundation, whose mission is “to support environmental sustainability; and to support a community of human interest through collaboration, inclusiveness and common values.”
A major aim of the pilot is to help determine if e-readers can cut down on the use of paper at Princeton, without adversely affecting the classroom experience.

To learn more about the pilot, explore the links listed in the left-hand pane of their web page. You may also contact Janet Temos, Director of the Educational Technologies Center (jtemos@princeton.edu), or Serge Goldstein, Associate CIO (serge@princeton.edu), if you need additional information.
