Shipping in four New Yorker staffers for last weekend's Auckland Writers & Readers Festival returned a solid publicity dividend for NZ: three blog posts from business columnist James Surowiecki (on the - relative - health of our banks, the apparent absence of recession-induced panic, and the impact of tighter credit on business); one from political columnist Hendrik Hertzberg on the delights of Auckland airport and one from writer Judith Thurman (pic left) on a powhiri at Unitec's new wharenui, that took top spot on the magazine's website.
