NZ HERALD SUPPLEMENT

The Herald runs supplements on a regular basis. They tend to be nothing more than advertising revenue projects and I normally biff them into the recycling without a sideways glance.

This morning though the latest one headed Education stopped me in my tracks.
There smiling off the front page were novelist Rachael King and Mr. NZ - Creative Writing himself, Bill Manhire.

The front page story proved to be about the creative writing course at Wellington's Victoria University.
The course is headed of course by Manhire and Rachael King is but one of a group of graduates who have gone on to successful writing careers.

Others include Emily Perkins, (pic left), Elizabeth Knox, Paula Morris, Catherine Chidgey, Anthony McCarten, Emma Neale, Sarah Quigley and James Brown.
