From Hamish Pilkington:

Hi Everyone,

One of my favourite authors is coming to Auckland this month for the Auckland Writers & Readers Festival 08.

Michael Pollan is a supporter of Slow Food philosophies such as growing your own vegetables, organic production & taking time to eat your food at the dinner table & not in front of the TV!!!

You can hear Michael present either at a lunch on the 15th May to be MC’d by Lauraine Jacobs or ‘An hour with Michael Pollen’ is being held on the 18th May 4pm ASB Theatre – Aotea Square. If he speaks as well as he writes it will be an informative & entertaining hour or two.

You can read more by clicking on this link:

I’ll unfortunately be away on these dates but will look to organise a ‘book club’ type event in June/July to talk more about Michael’s books The Omnivore’s Dilemma & The Botany of Desire.
