To his interesting nominees for the 1970's I would have added Richard Bach's novella, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I was a bookseller in those days and well remember the impact it made on so many people.

I knew Robert in the days when he was the "boy wonder" publisher at Faber & Faber and I must say his Observer stories are always well worth a read.
