Welcome to
our 2019 Season!
I hope you have
had a relaxing holiday and you are feeling recharged and ready for
another season of great music just as much as we are.
Maestro
Bellincampi returns to open our 2019 season with the New Zealand
Herald Premier Series: Fantasy next week. This concert
features Symphonie fantastique by Berlioz, a
spectacular work and one of the very few times you will see four
harps on stage.
Did you know
that the APO Friends run buses to the Auckland Town Hall for most
APO concerts? For just $10 return you can forget about traffic and
parking and get to meet fellow APO enthusiasts. They cover each
corner of Auckland from North, South, East to West, find out more.
Let's hope that
this wonderful weather continues and we look forward to performing
some equally wonderful music. Have a fantastic February!

be my orchestra valentine
Berlioz’ Symphonie
fantastique was written in the throes of a failed
love affair. Despite the complicated source material,
it is deliriously romantic, bizarre and thrilling –
this is not your average Valentine’s Day concert!

The greatest of gershwin's
romps
Rhapsody in
Blue
was Gershwin’s first critical hit as a composer.
Coupled with his love song to the City of Love, An
American in Paris, this evening will be an
unforgettable jaunty romp of 1920s jazz.
