Publishers Lunch


Book publicists Kimberly Burns, Whitney Peeling, and Michael Taeckens have partnered on Broadside, specializing in publicity and marketing for publisher-backed literary fiction and narrative nonfiction, as well as literary and mission-driven organizations and nonprofits. Each worked independently for the last several years, having most recently been employed by Random House, Perseus, and Graywolf, respectively.

Director of intellectual property at Barnes & Noble for 3 years Elizabeth Brannen has joined Los Angeles law firm Stris & Maher.

In the UK, Puffin UK editor Rebecca Lewis-Oakes won this year's Kim Scott Walwyn Prize.

Helen Garnons-Williams will leave Bloomsbury UK to become publishing director of Fourth Estate. At Bloomsbury, Alexa von Hirschberg has been promoted to senior fiction editor.
