Raewyn Davies reports:

It was a fantastic night for those who attended the launch of the stunning book Marae
Held at Bob & Friends in Ponsonby, it was a visual treat for guests in more ways that one. Located in stunning bungalow, a very appropriate place for the launch of a book that is about meeting houses.
The hosts had placed copies of the book throughout the store amongst their stunning range of stock.  In every room were copies of Marae – on the couch, the shelves, the counter and the coffee tables and as you wandered through the hallway it that was adorned with large format images from the book.

The formalities were short but heartfelt as John Walters – son of Muru and brother and brother-in-law of Robin & Sam – lead the proceedings.
The book/launch was blessed by a friend of the family and then Muru and family members led the crowd of around 100 in several songs – both in Maori and English.
Then with the formalities over friends, family and colleagues of the Walters family continued to celebrate the launch of this stunning book.
