Exciting news from AUP

Celebrated photographer Marti Friedlander, as forthright and revealing in words as in photographs, tells her personal story for the first time in Self-Portrait

From an orphanage childhood in London’s East End to half a century in New Zealand photographing wine-makers, artists, children and kuia, she has lived a rich life – one defined by the art of looking.

The publisher heads to Europe:
So, Sam’s off again, this time to the Frankfurt Book Fair, to showcase our books to the world. Our 2014 list is brimming with goodies, from Ngāpuhi history and Ngāti Porou carving to half a century of M. P. K. Sorrenson’s ground-breaking thinking; from vineyards to cardboard cathedrals; from reproductive health to our increasing longevity to the wandering, creative mind; all punctuated with fresh new poetry
