Smooth setup for
Taipei stand
One day out and judging by the photo, there was even time for conversation during the PANZ stand setup at the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE), which opens today. Clearly no carpet dramas here...

Translation rights to NZ titles vigorously pursued
The impetus to continue international rights sales of New Zealand published titles following the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2012 continues under the PANZ umbrella. Sarah Ropata is currently putting together the 2013 New Zealand Rights Catalogue which will promote 30 new Kiwi titles available for translation into international languages.
The catalogue will be launched at the European spring rights markets at the Leipzig Book Fair, 14–17 March. It will seek to build on the sales momentum gained at Frankfurt.
The production and distribution of the catalogue is supported by investment from Creative New Zealand and will feature a strong selection of New Zealand literary titles. In addition a mix of trade publishing including commercial publications will be presented in order to profile a balanced range of New Zealand books.
Titles have been selected for their high-quality writing and their international sales potential by a panel with experience in international rights sales, market trends and in-depth knowledge of NZ writing.
