200 Years of Pride and Prejudice - Celebrating the book's best covers.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that sometimes it’s OK to judge a book by its cover. This week marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of one of Jane Austen’s most beloved novels, Pride and Prejudice. The bicentennial is being celebrated with marathon readings and themed balls, and in the years since its publication, the book has inspired countless Hollywood movies and some bizarre reimaginings. But the numerous editions of the original text have also seen a wealth of interpretive covers: from the annotated to the peacock-inspired. Here’s to 200 more years.
