EDINBURGH-BASED PUBLISHER ACQUIRES RIGHTS IN NZ TITLE

Mainstream Publishing has announced that they have acquired world rights (excluding Australia and New Zealand)) to FABULOUS by Peta Mathias.

This what their publicist has to say:
Comparable to How To Walk in High Heels and The Goddess Guide, but much funnier. Peta instantly becomes every woman's confidant, as she shares the wisdom she has learnt over years of living outrageously.

She is a woman who appreciates the importance of a gorgeous pair of shoes and the perfect shade of lipstick. She knows the value of good friends, great music, lively conversation, beautiful surroundings and a one-way ticket to an exotic destination. And having loved and lost - more than once - Peta also has her own theories on why relationships begin and end.

She confronts the various angst women have, in some places touching, in others laugh out loud funny, something I can attest to having watched Amy Mitchell, who bought the book for Mainstream, reading it on the stand at Frankfurt and laughing hysterically when she should have been selling rights!
Amy bought the book from Alison Brook at Penguin New Zealand and Mainstream will publish in August 2009.

FOOTNOTE
The Bookman offers Peta warmest congratulations on this exciting news.
