ITV3 CRIME THRILLER AWARDS

The inaugural winners of the new ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards were announced in London a few hours ago. The winners were presented with their awards by Dame Helen Mirren and Ricky Gervais.

At the glittering ceremony, as well as the winners of the various categories, the first three entries into the International Crime Writing Hall of Fame were announced - three authors who throughout their illustrious careers have represented the pinnacle of the crime fiction genre.

The three inductees are Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie and P.D.James.

A visibly moved P.D.James collceted her Award from the award presenter Alan Davies, and paid tribute to her many peers at the event.
As arguably her greatest NZ fan The Bookman wishes he had been present.
Instead all I can do, from this great distance, is say well done P.D.James, I salute you.
