David Beckham is to launch a series of children's books with plots set in his football academies.

The stories, aimed at seven year olds, will be about what a group of young footballers get up to on the pitch and after training.
The books will also have tips, a pull-out tactics board and statistics on the game.
The first book in the series, which has not yet been given a title, is due to be released in June 2009 but publishers say the books will not be written by Beckham.
A spokesman for David Beckham said: “The David Beckham Academy is more than just David’s dream of giving children the chance to experience great football coaching, it exists to encourage all aspects of their learning and development.
