FYI, I’ve had several comments about the piece on the IMPAC Prize, as the three NZ writers noted in the e-zine are of course Penguin writers (the source of the piece) and in fact the long-list features no fewer than 6 NZers (which is a superb result). They are: Time Corballis The Fossil Pits, Maurice Gee Blindsight, Fiona Kidman The Captive Wife, Paula Morris Hibiscus Coast, Linda Olsson Let Me Sing You Gentle Songs and Carl Shuker The Method Actors.
