New reports support earlier ones that the Winds of Winter release date might happen next year. Ever since A Dance with Dragons was released in 2011, fans have continuously asked George R.R. Martin for updates about the latest Game of Thrones book.
The 67-year-old author opted to tease fans by writing on his blog, “And while I will be travelling, my army of minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines.” The statement sent fans speculating that the book might already be in the publishing house.
Parent Herald previously reported that the Winds of Winter release date might take place next year because Polish translator Michael Jakuszewski was asked to free up his schedule to translate the book before this year ends. Alejo Cuervo, the editor of Spanish publication Ediciones Gigamesh, also told a radio station that the Winds of Winter release date will be in 2016.
