Story times, dedicated booksellers and engaged communities see NZ Bookshop Day fly

The Read, Booksellers NZ

The night before NZ Bookshop Day was a bit like Christmas Eve. We enjoyed the hype on social media leading up to the day, with a brief couple of hours of ‘trending’ on Thursday, and lots of entries flying in for our photography and colouring competitions. Personally, I was awake hoping that everybody would remember to tweet, Facebook and Instagram their way through the day!

We think Tony Moores from Poppies Bookshop group says it well:

We asked some of our tireless booksellers about how their events went, and I thank Tony, Stella Chrysostomou from Page & Blackmore Booksellers and John McIntyre from The Children’s Bookshop for their thoughtful responses.
We have also gathered information from emails and around the social media traps.
