with Max Rashbrooke
Chaired by Geoff Bertram
Thursday 26 November, 5:30-7pm Royal Society of New Zealand 11 Turnbull Street Thorndon, Wellington
Two years on from his successful 2013 lecture tour, Professor Robert Wade returns to New Zealand to speak about the current state of global inequality.
At the Royal Society on 26 November, Professor Wade will be in conversation with Max Rashbrooke, whose ground-breaking work on inequality in New Zealand complements Prof Wade’s research into the wider international context. Chairing the event will be Dr Geoff Bertram from the Institute of Governance and Policy Studies.
Robert Wade is Professor of Political Economy and Development at the London School of Economics, and author of numerous scholarly publications on inequality. Journalist Max Rashbrooke is editor of Inequality: A New Zealand Crisis (2013) and author of Wealth and New Zealand, released this month. Geoff Bertram is a Senior Research Associate at the IGPS and former Senior Lecturer in Economics at Victoria University of Wellington.
