And the new Children's Laureate is... Chris Riddell, writer of the award-wining Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse, has been named as the Children’s Laureate for 2015-2017. Book Trust Chief Executive Diana Gerald said: I am delighted that Chris Riddell is our Children’s Laureate. His ability to engage children’s imaginations, his commitment to encouraging schools to do more for readers, and his passion for illustration mean that I have no doubt he will inspire a generation of children to read, to write, to draw and, ultimately, to develop a life-long love of books.
