New Zealand is set to take centre-stage in Taipei as the
designated Guest of Honour at the Taipei
International Book Exhibition, February 11-16. The honour will see 22 New Zealand
authors, including Eleanor Catton, Witi Ihimaera and Joy Cowley, travel to
Taipei for the event.
As part of New Zealand’s presence in Taipei, White
Fungus has been commissioned to produce a New Zealand issue of our new sister
bilingual (Chinese and English) publication the Subconscious
Restaurant.
The new publication will be released with a big sound art
event at Huashan
Creative Park on February 14 (Valentine’s Day). Three New Zealand
artists – Campbell Kneale, Greg Malcolm and Jeff Henderson – will perform
alongside Taiwan artists Wang Fujui, Noise Steve and Sonic Deadhorse. For more
info about the event and publication visit here.
This project is kindly supported by the New Zealand
Commerce and Industry Office Taipei.
