George RR Martin, as famed for the time it takes him to write his A Song of Ice and Fire series as for the popularity that they have achieved, has posted a new preview chapter from The Winds of Winter.
Martin has declined to write episodes for the fifth and sixth seasons of the TV show in order to concentrated on writing his book.
This new chapter, which also introduces a long-awaited character, is the first since 2005's A Feast of Crows to be written from the perspective of Sansa Stark.
